Direct message the job poster from UK Home Office Lead Technical Recruiter (Cyber Security, Data & IT Operations) @ UK Home Office | HR, Recruiting, Hiring Location: Croydon Salary: £48,720 plus allowance of up to £8,300 for candidates demonstrating exceptional skills and experience Advert Close Date: 11th July 11:55pm Senior Change and Release Manager As Senior Change and Release Manager, you will oversee IT service changes across the Home Office, including those initiated by portfolios, suppliers, transition teams, and project managers. You’ll manage both planned and urgent changes, ensuring they are assessed and implemented in line with best practice. Strong analytical skills, clear communication, and confident stakeholder engagement are essential, along with the ability to prioritise and act decisively. You may also support junior colleagues, take on line management responsibilities, and contribute to capability-building across the IT Operations community. UK residency for the past five years is required for security clearance. What you will do Review and prioritise changes, communicate potential impacts, and ensure appropriate testing to minimise disruption. Assess the risk and impact of changes—especially complex ones—engaging stakeholders and ensuring documentation and back-out plans are in place. Coordinate with Incident Management on emergency changes, including participation in technical bridge calls and managing the Emergency Change process. Support the development of policies and procedures aligned with best practice to maintain service quality. Investigate non-compliance with change policies and work with stakeholders to improve adherence. Build strong relationships across service, architecture, design, and supplier teams to meet KPIs and uphold service standards. Improve stakeholder understanding of the change process, identify operational improvements, and contribute to lessons learned and post-implementation reviews. What you’ll bring Experience in a similar role with strong knowledge of ITIL v3/v4 service management. Proven ability to work in Agile environments, with understanding of Lean, Agile, and DevOps in a product-focused setting. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and suppliers. Experience designing, owning, and maintaining change management processes and documentation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, delivery-focused mindset. Commitment to user-centred service delivery, with a clear sense of ownership and accountability.
