We’re looking for a bilingual Welsh and English speaker who is flexible, organised, and confident working in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll need to be professional, customer focused, and comfortable adapting to change while solving problems effectively.

You’ll also bring a strong sense of personal ethics and honesty, strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build relationships with the public, internal and external stakeholders, and work as part of a wider team.

What you’ll do

As a Passport Officer, you’ll examine passport applications, confirm identity and nationality, and approve those that meet policy and legal requirements.

Working as part of the wider Immigration and Citizenship Services team, you’ll help deliver a secure and efficient passport service that people can trust.

This is an important role where attention to detail, sound judgement, and a strong sense of responsibility help protect the integrity of the UK passport and maintain confidence in an essential public service.

As part of the application process, you must be able to demonstrate these essential skills:

  • Fluent in Welsh language
  • Proficient in Information Technology (IT)
  • Civil Service Pension with employer contribution of 28.97%
  • In-year reward scheme for one-off or sustained exceptional personal or team achievements
  • Full training and access to development opportunities
  • 25 days’ annual leave on appointment, rising with service to 30 days
  • Eight days of public holidays, plus one additional privilege day
  • Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working.

This is a non-contractual arrangement where all employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office
