You will contribute to the effective running of the communications function by encouraging continuous improvement and promoting ideas to improve ways of working. Where necessary, this role will be expected to deputise for the Communications Business Partner in their absence.

Responsibilities

  • Act as key point of contact for the CDO communications function.
  • Provide professional and administration support to the team including responding to emails, inbox management, diary management and supporting meetings.

  • Create engaging content for a range of communication channels.
  • Lead on logistics and coordination of events, learning sessions, and Town Halls.
  • Produce and manage virtual events on MS Teams and MS Teams Town Hall (previously MS Teams Live).
  • Support the delivery of internal communication content, ensuring products are delivered to a high quality.
  • Align CDO communication to key change programmes and delivery milestones and ensure effective planning.
  • Analyse and segment internal audiences to target communication effectively.
  • Maintain and develop a group SharePoint hub.
  • Support the creation of high‑quality presentations to a range of stakeholders.
  • Commission requests for information and take responsibility for drafting summaries of the responses.
  • Support the Communications Business Partner with corporate initiatives and tasks.
  • Advise on, analyse and support the implementation of feedback mechanisms to measure employee engagement.
  • Liaise with CDO Private Office on regular strategic priorities.
  • Develop strong relationships across the group.

Other Responsibilities

  • Provide ‘best practice’ advice and guidance to colleagues.
  • Prepare and coordinate team meetings, senior leader briefings, and performance reports.
  • Support the coordination of an engagement network to support strategic campaigns.
  • Support staff engagement activity within the group, including responding to People Survey results and action planning.
  • Act as an ambassador for the CDO communications function in all engagement with all parties, demonstrating UKHSA’s values and behaviours.
  • Be aware of the bigger picture across government priorities and how UKHSA’s work aligns with and supports this agenda.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of advising, analysing and supporting the implementation of feedback mechanisms.
  • Self‑motivated and proactive approach, seeking out information that may need to be communicated.
