The Deputy Director of Global Operations sits within the Global Health Protection Directorate, reporting to the Director of Global Health Protection. The role leads the Global Operations Division, which includes delivery of many of UKHSA's Global Health Protection programmes, including International Health Regulations Strengthening Programme, UK Overseas Territories and CARA programmes. The role requires developing and maintaining close working with UK government departments and other UK partners to build and strengthen international public health links.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Global Operations Division, delivering programmes including International Health Regulations Strengthening Programme, UK Overseas Territories and CARA programmes.
- Develop and maintain close working with UK government departments and other UK partners to build and strengthen international public health links.
- Ensure high-quality delivery and efficient operation of the Global portfolio of projects within the Division.
- Work as part of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the organisation's work is strategically driven, technically sound, at an appropriate scale and effectively implemented.
- Engage with partners across government, including liaising with DHSC (Official Development Assistance funding for the International Health Regulation Strengthening Programme and the UK Public Health Rapid Support Team) and with FCDO (funding for the UK Overseas Territories programme).
- Support the Director of Global Health Protection and the DD Global Strategy to ensure awareness of key global activities and a line of sight across UKHSA's global activity.
