The jobholder will provide executive and administrative support to the Commercial Finance team, helping it deliver its objectives and provide value for members. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a vitally important sector of the economy.
The Commercial Finance team represents members that provide finance and services to UK businesses, with a particular focus on supporting SMEs. Its work covers commercial banking, invoice finance and asset-based lending, and brings together a diverse membership including major UK banks, specialist lenders, alternative finance providers, foreign and charity banks, and not-for-profit institutions.
Through its Commercial and Invoice Finance & Asset-Based Lending Product and Service Boards, the team acts as a centre of expertise on commercial banking, finance markets and related policy issues. It works with members, government, regulators and business representatives to support a competitive, responsible market that helps businesses access the finance they need to grow.
The role involves regular interaction with team members, Commercial Finance members and external stakeholders, and is central to the smooth running of meetings, communications, governance processes and day-to-day team activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Commercial Finance team in delivering its objectives.
- Manage directors’ diaries and schedules.
- Set up physical and virtual meetings with members and stakeholders co-ordinate meeting agendas and briefings, and provide minute-taking and action tracking where required. This will include meetings of the Commercial Product and Service Board.
- Book and manage travel itineraries, including accommodation and processing of expenses.
- Deputise for the Managing Director’s Executive Assistants when required.
- Provide administrative support, including managing the team’s digital filing system and championing the use of the Member Relationship Management database.
- Use internal finance systems to raise purchase orders and process supplier invoices.
- Support the delivery of the annual survey of Commercial members.
- Support the team’s engagement and compliance with the risk register.
- Support the annual content review of the team’s microsites.
- Support team communications with members and other stakeholders.
- Provide support for event planning and delivery.
- Maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality with all materials.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with other relevant internal departments
