To support the Prudential, Reporting and Tax (PRT) team in its engagement with members, the UK authorities and other stakeholders, assist the team, and lead on various areas of policy formulation, prudential regulation, financial reporting and corporate governance, and UK tax.

As a cross-cutting policy specialist within UK Finance, the PRT team works with a broad spectrum of UK Finance members – large UK and international banks, mid-tier and smaller banks, building societies and payment firms.

The role engages across various workstreams providing broad spectrum opportunities to learn, understand and provide personal contributions to the application of UK prudential and tax rules/regulations for banks in the UK and internationally, across a variety of member business models engaging on key industry issues and providing co-ordinated responses advocating on their behalf.

As part of general policy advocacy, the role will work, and own relationships with, our members’ subject matter experts across a range of prudential regulation including items of a technical nature as the PRT team develops written responses to consultations and discussion papers issued by the Prudential Regulation Authority, the Bank of England, HM Treasury, HMRC, Department of Business & Trade, Financial Reporting Council, International Sustainability Standards Board and (less frequently) by the Financial Conduct Authority.
