You will be a member of UK Finance’s PRT team, working in one of the most dynamic areas in financial services. Capital and Taxation are the banking industry’s and UK Finance’s top two priorities in the coming years to support the government’s growth and competitiveness agenda.

You will support the PRT team in its engagement with members, the UK authorities and other stakeholders on policy change in prudential and supervisory regulation, corporate and financial reporting and disclosure, and tax legislation as regulatory changes evolve and are implemented.

The role offers plenty of exposure and the opportunity to learn and understand the application of prudential and taxation rules and regulations for banks in the UK and internationally, across a variety of member business models.

You will have the opportunity to work with our members’ subject matter experts on technical aspects of tax and prudential regulation as the PRT team develops written response to consultations and discussion papers issued by The Prudential Regulation Authority, the Bank of England, HM Treasury, Department of Business & Trade, Financial Reporting Council, International Sustainability Standards Board and (less frequently) by the Financial Conduct Authority.

The role will enable you to become familiar with the banking regulatory environment and influence policy changes proposed by UK banking regulatory authorities and their international counterparts.

You will also be able to build contacts with subject matter experts in our member banks and building societies.
