This role provides a unique opportunity to gain insight into the future of payments and money in the UK. As a Payments and innovation Intern, you will support UK Finance's work on the development of future payment systems, digital money, and related policy initiatives. Working with colleagues across the organisation and industry stakeholders, you will contribute to research, analysis, stakeholder engagement, and committee support activities.

As a Payments and innovation Intern, you will support UK Finance's work on the development of future payment systems, digital money, and related policy initiatives. Working with colleagues across the organisation and industry stakeholders, you will contribute to research, analysis, stakeholder engagement, and committee support activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support policy leads in delivering work programmes relating to digital money, payments innovation, and emerging payment systems.
  • Assist with the coordination of industry committees and working groups, including preparing agendas, organising meetings, commissioning papers, and tracking actions.
  • Conduct research and analysis on developments in digital money, payments policy, regulation, and technology to support policy development and industry engagement.
  • Prepare briefing materials, governance updates, and meeting papers for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attend committee and working group meetings, taking minutes and managing action logs.
  • Support the development of UK Finance responses to consultations and policy initiatives by coordinating stakeholder input and monitoring regulatory developments.
  • Assist in the governance and delivery of strategic projects, including tracking milestones, monitoring progress against workplans, and reporting on key outcomes.
  • Work with colleagues, regulators, industry participants, and external partners to support the development of future payments infrastructure and digital money initiatives.
