Role
They will be a great team player, a supportive colleague, and a positive role-model for the Prudential, Reporting and Taxation Team, and the company more broadly. Specifically, they will be expected to:

  • At all times observe the UK Finance vision and values and observe the highest standards in relationships with colleagues, members and wider stakeholders, in accordance with the UK Finance competency and behaviour framework. Bring out the best in team members through:
  • actively managing performance and acting as a coach and sponsor.
  • contributing to the delivery of organisational, team and personal objectives in an inclusive and collaborative way; and
  • Enhancing cross-team working within Personal Finance and across UK Finance; particularly in key areas such as Membership, Corporate Strategy and the CEO’s office

Some Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and actively manage a business plan and priority policy areas for Prudential, Reporting and Tax Committee (PRTC).
  • Proactively manage prudential risks supporting the successful delivery of the related mortgage policy stream business plan priorities.
  • Ensure the team works collaboratively to deliver persuasive, evidence-based advocacy on priority policy, legal and regulatory issues, that reflect the breadth of members’ interests, shaping:
  • A proportionate and competitive prudential regulatory regime
  • The development of prudential reporting and disclosure requirements
  • The UK and international tax environment
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key UK, EU and international legislators, regulators and supervisors and build relationships with key non-UK banking regulators and supervisors as well as multi-lateral organisations and global standard setters
