In this role you will use your communications skills to help deliver important fraud awareness campaigns to help people protect themselves from fraud and scams. UK Finance leads work on behalf of the industry to tackle economic crime. A key part of this is helping customers to protect themselves from fraud and scams. We do this through two industry fraud awareness campaigns: Take Five to Stop Fraud and Don’t Be Fooled.

Take Five is a national campaign that empowers individuals and businesses across the UK to protect themselves against financial fraud. Don’t Be Fooled aims to inform students and young people about the risks of giving out their bank details and deter them from becoming money mules.

You will work directly with the Campaigns Manager to develop and deliver our campaign activity. You will get to work across a variety of communication channels, including digital and social. You will work with external communications agencies and engage with UK Finance members and other stakeholders.

This role would be suitable for someone who:

  • enjoys using their writing skills and insight-led creativity to produce engaging content including articles and social media posts.

Key responsibilities

  • Working with colleagues in the Campaigns and Member Communications team, as well as the wider Corporate Affairs team, you will assist the Manager, Campaigns with the delivery of campaign activities.
  • Be the day‑to‑day lead for our social media activity, including creating content, monitoring channels and working with colleagues and an external agency on our social media activity.
  • Report on social media and digital performance and use insights to inform plans.
  • Produce campaign material including newsletters, blogs, and monthly social media toolkits for campaign partners.
  • Support the management of the campaign websites, using a content management system (CMS).
  • Identify opportunities for proactively placing fraud prevention advice and guidance, including by monitoring media outlets for news stories.
  • Take part in events and engagement activity, including interacting with members and the general public.
  • Carry out ad hoc tasks such as managing the Take Five mailbox, arranging meetings, producing agendas and minutes, and producing activity reports.

  • An interest in delivering fraud awareness campaigns.
  • Strong oral communication skills and a willingness to engage with a range of stakeholders to deliver our campaigns.
  • An understanding of the challenge that fraud presents to customers, the financial sector and society as a whole.
  • An understanding of some of the key issues facing the banking and finance industry.
