UK Export Finance (UKEF) is the UK Government’s export credit agency, supporting UK businesses to win, fulfil and get paid for export contracts. We are looking for an experienced Financial Crime Manager to play a critical role in protecting UKEF from financial crime risk while enabling the delivery of government‑backed export finance.
Working within our Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) function, you will provide high‑quality written and oral analysis to identify, understand and mitigate risks such as bribery, corruption, fraud and other financial crime issues across UKEF‑supported transactions. You will make robust, defensible and consistent recommendations to senior decision‑makers, ensuring that UKEF does not support transactions that are unlawful, contrary to government policy, or expose the organisation to undue financial or reputational risk.
You will take a lead role in the in‑depth analysis of live transactions, using intelligence from a range of sources including CRM systems and screening providers, and ensure that decisions and recommendations are accurately recorded and proportionate to UKEF’s Risk Appetite Statement (RAS). Crucially, you will balance strong risk management with commercial awareness, ensuring FCC operates as an effective enabler rather than an unnecessary brake on business.
The role also offers opportunities to lead and develop others, quality‑assure the work of junior colleagues, contribute to training across the Department, and support the ongoing evolution of FCC policies, processes and risk frameworks. You will represent UKEF across government, industry and international export credit agency networks, contributing to an increasingly intelligence‑led compliance function.
