Are you an experienced employment lawyer looking for a unique opportunity to make a strategic impact across a government department?
UK Export Finance (UKEF), the UK's export credit agency, is seeking an Employment Lawyer to establish and lead our employment law function.
This newly created role offers the chance to become the department's specialist adviser on employment law, working closely with senior leaders and our Human Resources Division to ensure legal compliance, manage risk, and support a high-performing workplace.
As our employment law expert, you will provide practical, solution-focused advice on a broad range of issues including employee relations, disciplinary and grievance matters, organisational change, restructuring, workforce policy, contractual arrangements, settlement agreements and employment litigation.
You will advise on emerging legislation, support complex business decisions and help shape the organisation's approach to managing legal risk across its workforce.
This is a rare opportunity to combine technical excellence with strategic influence.
You will work with senior stakeholders across UKEF, build strong relationships with the Government Legal Department, and play a key role in translating complex legal requirements into practical guidance for managers and HR professionals.
Beyond employment law, you will also have opportunities to contribute to wider legal matters across the department, including public law, procurement, information law and UK GDPR issues, providing exceptional variety and development.
We're looking for a qualified lawyer with significant employment law experience, excellent judgement, and the ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and pragmatically.
You'll be confident building relationships, influencing decision-making and delivering high-quality legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
