Base – Preston

Company pension scheme

Holidays – 28 days per year (pro rata)

Hours – c40 + hours per week. The Business operates 24/7, 365 days per year.

The job

Our Specialist services Team look forward to welcoming a Team Leader to this post. As a specialist service team leader you will be responsible for ensuring service delivery is maintained by contributing to the safe, timely and effective running of the sites daily operations and vehicle fleet across both urgent care and our secure transport Services. The role is predominantly office based however it is also expected that, where required you will go out on the road to fulfil business and contract requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Operations Team Leader (OTL) role has responsibility for the provision of clinical leadership and management to the immediate clinical team members within the Specialist services team.
  • Manage the day to day service delivery to patients providing support for operational, dispatch and clinical staff.
  • Reporting daily activity to the UKEMS’s management ensuring all operational and compliance targets are met accurate communication at all time between all stakeholders and operational staff working at the site.
  • To contribute to the safe, timely and effective running of the daily operation of the division and vehicle fleet.
  • Promote positive communication, team culture and team working.
  • Promote positive and effective practice.
  • Ensure compliance targets are met.
  • Ensure all audits, incidents and reports are investigated within required time‑spans.
  • Service delivery is maintained.
  • To provide effective leadership in ensuring that standards and practices comply with UKEMS policies and procedures.
  • To ensure the road staffs understand their roles and are working within the clinical governance strategy and promote excellence in clinical practice in accordance with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and company guidelines.
  • The Team Leader has the responsibility for the provision of leadership and management to the immediate operational staff.
  • Develop a good working knowledge of the business processes to ensure these are being followed by all clinical staff.
  • Ensure all crews are booked on within the shift start time requirements, minimizing any unnecessary down times throughout the shift.
  • Assist with office duties, ie staff rota completion where required, run sheet collation and entry, customer report compiling.
  • Uphold business principles of customer, patient care, and staff welfare by promoting and maintaining good working relationships and practices in all dealings with staff and outside agencies.
  • To act as a point of contact in the event of vehicle breakdown and planned service and repair in order to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the service.
  • To assist the dispatch team in the effective and efficient use and forward planning of resources including vehicles, equipment and staff.
  • To identify and plan cover for all aspects of the service in the event of planned or unplanned absence within the team.
  • To participate in the "on call" rota.
