A new position for this particular vacancy is available. To be considered for this vacancy you must be able to attend a 1 week Induction Training course. The course will run from 9am-5pm each day and the venue and date is yet to be confirmed. Your attendance at training will be paid at £12.21 per hour. Please note, once we have enough applicants for the course this post will be closed.

Base - Salford

Pay - £12.21 per hour

Holidays - 28 days per year (pro rata)

Hours - Shifts available are 40 hours per week. Shifts available include working 4 days on, 4 days off OR 5 on, 3 off. Various shifts are available - 8 hours, 10 hours or 12 hours. The Business operates 24/7, 365 days per year. Initially a zero hours contract is offered to successful applicants. Successful applicants will be expected to work a range of shifts including Days, Evenings, Nights, weekends, and bank Holidays.

Due to our continued and sustained growth we seek to recruit Ambulance Care Assistants.

The job: We take pride in the services provided by our caring, compassionate and friendly teams of trained, highly skilled Ambulance Care Assistants (ACA’s) who play a key role in the planned, safe and comfortable transportation of patients travelling from/to hospital or places of care (non-emergency). No two shifts are alike for an ACA who undertakes a wide variety of tasks including:

  • Drive ambulances/specialist vehicles
  • Provide reassurance, comfort and support to patients
  • Patient and vehicle risk assessments
  • Mechanical and manual handling including the safe movement of patients, operation of tail lifts and wheelchair clamping systems
  • Communication with our control centre
  • The cleaning and restocking of our vehicles
  • Accurate completion of reports/documentation

About you: Our ACA’s come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Whilst many offer a background in care, others have previously worked in retail, entertainment, customer service and hospitality. Previous work experience may differ; however, each ACA offers empathy and kindness, a positive, flexible and adaptable attitude, a strong work ethic together with the ability to work as part of a team. Your clear and confident verbal communication together with effective listening skills contribute to instilling confidence in patients using our services.

No formal qualifications are necessary as training is provided. A full current UK driving licence is essential. A clean licence is preferred. All licence enforcements need to be declared on application. This post is physically demanding. You must be able to lift (together with a colleague) a minimum of 11 stone/70 kgs.
