About The Role
We are looking for a Research Assistant to join our team working on next-generation solid-state hydrogen storage materials, contributing to an EPSRC-funded project that supports the UK’s net-zero and clean energy ambitions. The role sits at the interface of materials science, chemical engineering, and hydrogen energy.
The post involves hands-on experimental research, including the preparation, characterisation, and analysis of advanced hydrogen storage materials. You will be expected to be proficient in high-pressure gas adsorption measurements, including the use of IGA-003 and HTP-1 systems, and to work independently with specialist laboratory equipment.
You will work closely with academic staff and other researchers in a collaborative laboratory environment, supporting the delivery of key project milestones and contributing to high-quality research outputs and publications. This role offers the opportunity to develop expertise in a highly specialised and fast-growing research area, with strong links to international collaborations and impact-driven hydrogen research.
As a member of Research Staff at the University of Bath, you will be encouraged to take up a minimum of 10 days’ professional development (pro rata) per year.
