Job opportunity

We are currently seeking a Semi Skilled Painter to join our expanding team of dedicated craftsmen for our busy boatyard.

This is a great opportunity to help assist in repairing, refurbishing and refitting various Military and Commercial vessels. This work is mainly carried out at our Gosport site in Hampshire.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

• Previous Experience working with various paint systems.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
• Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers with precision and care.
• Follow project specifications and colour schemes accurately to meet client expectations.
• Good with your hands, with an attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring safety protocols are adhered to at all times.
• Experience in the Marine industry would be advantageous, but not necessarily
• A flexible attitude, as you may be asked to carry out various yard duties, including assisting other trades.

Qualifications

• Good command of English language, both written and spoken, for effective communication with team members and clients.
• Strong communication skills to understand project requirements and coordinate tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality finishes.
• Physical fitness to perform manual tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working at heights if required. This role offers an engaging environment where craftsmanship is valued.
• A full UK driving license would be beneficial.
