About the role
University College London (UCL) wishes to appoint a Temporary Operations Administrator. The post holder will be based at The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction at the Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment, a world-leading faculty ranked #1 in the world for Built Environment studies and #1 in the UK for its research environment. The post holder will deliver an effective and efficient operations function for the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, improving processes where appropriate. This is a fixed-term, full-time position ending 31 May 2027.
The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the department’s move into temporary offices, setting up facilities in the temporary space, ensuring health and safety compliance through T100, recording and auditing health and safety requirements, ensuring colleagues are supported in their teaching and research activities in the space. And supporting the move back into the newly refurbished space at 1-19 Torrington Place.
The appointee is required to be educated to A Level or equivalent, and have demonstrable experience of providing office facilities and operational support in a department or organisation, as well as demonstratable experience of managing office moves and health and safety in an office environment.
They will also have demonstrable experience with finance and procurement: raising POs, paying invoices, account reconciliations, budget allocation, understanding budgets and variances. The successful candidate will show strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with a variety of people, both within UCL and external organisations.
A pro-active flexible, professional and customer-focused approach is required at all times ensuring a high level of service to colleagues and students. The ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve team objectives, as well as excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise and organise own workload are essential to this role.
