This role provides a comprehensive and efficient support service across all aspects of HR, including, but not limited to, recruitment, promotions, probation, appraisals, attendance and absence. The Senior HR Officer will build effective and positive working relationships within the Faculty, providing key advice and guidance to staff and managers, ensuring compliance and adherence to UCL policy and procedures.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, or equivalent professional experience, with a working and up to date knowledge of UK employment law and policy. They will have demonstrable experience of working in a HR generalist role, ideally in a Higher Education or similarly complex setting. Excellent communication skills are essential, along with highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to listen with empathy and compassion. Proactive and self-motivated, the successful candidate will be able to work with autonomy, effectively managing competing priorities and deadlines.

The deadline for applications is 21 June 2026. Interviews are likely to take place in the week commencing 29 June 2026. This role is offered on a full-time basis (0.8 FTE will also be considered), for a period of 12 months to cover a period of maternity leave by the substantive post holder. The role is expected to start in August.
