This post is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health Data Scientist to contribute to the management of ECHILD, a data resource linking administrative data from health, education and children’s social care for all children in England. The postholder will facilitate policy-relevant research on health and education across the early lifecourse by supporting data users with data extractions, data documentation, and epidemiological and statistical methodology. The Data Scientist will act as a key point of contact, responding to queries and carrying out feasibility checks, signposting to resources and providing technical and governance support.
You will have an MSc or PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g. statistics, epidemiology, public health, health data science). You will have advanced quantitative and statistical software skills using standard software (e.g. Stata, R) and experience of analysing administrative datasets from health or education. Experience of working in child health would be an advantage. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
