About the role
We're looking for an experienced Safety Advisor to join our Safety Services team, providing expert health and safety advice across UCL with a particular focus on construction projects, estates maintenance and infrastructure.
This is a varied and influential role where you'll work closely with Estates colleagues, project teams and departmental leaders to ensure safety is embedded throughout the lifecycle of building and maintenance projects. From advising on CDM compliance and conducting audits, to investigating incidents and delivering training, you'll help shape a proactive safety culture across a unique and diverse estate.

About you
You'll be a qualified health and safety professional with experience advising within a large, complex organisation. You'll have strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, ideally with experience supporting construction, facilities management or estates environments.
You’ll be confident working with stakeholders at all levels, providing practical, proportionate advice and influencing best practice. Organised, proactive and collaborative, you’ll be comfortable managing competing priorities while maintaining high professional standards. A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for creating safe, inclusive workplaces will help you thrive in this role.
Whether you’re conducting inspections on site, supporting major projects or coaching colleagues, you’ll bring sound judgement, excellent communication skills and a practical approach to improving health and safety performance across UCL.
