The UCL Division of Psychiatry, located within the Faculty of Brain Sciences, is a world-renowned centre of excellence in mental health research. About the role
We are looking for Research Fellows on research projects involving the characterisation and prediction of treatments for mood disorders. The post holder will contribute to research on mood disorders in a variety of ways, including through analysis of behavioural and imaging data, through recruitment support, and through data acquisition support. This work will be in close collaboration with RELMED, PRADAM and the studies supported by the Mood Disorders Research clinic at the North London Mental Health Foundation Trust. This post is suitable for a candidate with substantial previous research experience and experience of recruiting participants to research studies, who wishes to contribute to top quality research. The full-time Research Fellow positions are funded at Grade 7 for up to 18 months. Any offer of employment will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The post is graded on the UCL Non-clinical grade structure at Grade 7, the annual salary is £46,261 to £54,019 (including London Allowance). The appointment is available from 01/10/2026. This post is fully on-site.
About you
This post is suitable for a candidate with a PhD in a relevant field and substantial previous research experience and knowledge about computational modelling, neuroimaging and neuroscience relevant to the aetiology and mechanisms of treatment for difficult-to-treat depression. Candidates should also have experience with mental health or neuroscience research experience and experience of recruiting participants to research studies. Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills are also essential for this role.
