The Department of Neurodegenerative Disease at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology is internationally recognised for its research into neurodegenerative disorders, with a focus on the genetic, molecular, cellular, and neuropathological mechanisms underlying disease and their relationship to clinical outcomes.
The UCL Huntington’s Disease Centre, based in the Department and led by Professor Sarah Tabrizi and Professor Gillian Bates, integrates laboratory-based research with clinical neuroscience to translate fundamental discoveries into early-phase clinical studies. Established in 2015, the Centre combines biomarker development, preclinical research, and clinical trial delivery, including first-in-human and proof-of-concept studies through the Leonard Wolfson Experimental Neurology Centre (LWENC).
About the role
You will support the management of a range of innovative Huntington’s disease clinical trials at the UCL Huntington’s Disease Centre in collaboration with UCLH and the LWENC. You will lead on the coordination support for the Novartis pivotal Phase III trial and be responsible for maintaining the site files and organising monitoring visits and working alongside colleagues at the LWENC and study sponsor representatives to ensuring the smooth running of the trial from set up to close out.
You will manage Enroll-HD, a worldwide registry study for HD, for the UCL site. This will include managing recruitment activities and study assessments during and outside NHNN HD clinics, planning study visits, liaising with participants and clinical and research teams at the LWENC, UCL, and NHNN, and overseeing data processing. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining and upkeeping the HD Centre Biobank for biological samples collected across the centre.
In addition, building on the success of HD-YAS, you will assist the other Research Coordinator with the ongoing management of HD-YAS 2.3. You will work closely with Professor Tabrizi (Principal Investigator) and Co-Investigators involved in the study, ensuring that the study delivers high quality data, on time and within budget, whilst maintaining the safety of subjects and the scientific goals of the study.
An appropriate Honorary contract or Research Passport will be sought from UCLH NHS Foundation Trust, for which a DBS check will be required.
The role is available from 01 August 2026 and funded is by the CHDI Foundation and Wellcome until 16 August 2027 the first instance.

About you
You will hold an Honours degree (minimum 2:1) in a relevant subject area (biological sciences, psychology) or a related discipline and have a proven strong scientific background in neurodegeneration.
Experience of working in Huntington’s disease research, clinical trials, and with patients is essential, as is experience of project and financial management. Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are also required for this role.
This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.
