The Health Partnerships Team sits within the Vice Provost Health Office at UCL and leads strategic priorities across health, working across academic, clinical, industry and international partnerships to advance UCL’s health agenda. The team supports major strategic initiatives that strengthen healthcare education, research and innovation, while helping to shape the future direction of health across the institution.

As UCL launches its new Health Strategy, this is an exciting opportunity to join a team at the centre of delivering ambitious programmes with meaningful impact. The work spans healthcare professional education, research infrastructure development and strategic collaborations, bringing together expertise across medicine, dentistry, nursing, allied health professions and wider health disciplines.

We are looking for a Health Strategy Programme Manager to join the team on a 1-year fixed term contract to support the delivery of UCL’s new Health Strategy. This role will play an important part in translating strategic priorities into programmes and projects that drive long-term impact across healthcare education, research and partnership development.

The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of work focused on areas such as expanding healthcare professional education and training opportunities, supporting the development of research infrastructure and enabling strategic partnerships and collaborations. The role will involve leading programme planning and delivery, developing business cases, managing governance processes and coordinating stakeholders across academic, clinical and external environments.

This is a highly collaborative role that requires strong programme leadership alongside the ability to work across complex systems, influence senior stakeholders and maintain momentum across multiple priorities. It offers the opportunity to contribute to work that will shape the future of healthcare training and research at UCL.

You will be an experienced programme or project professional with a track record of delivering complex initiatives in multi-stakeholder environments, ideally within healthcare, higher education or related sectors. You will bring experience of leading programmes from planning through to implementation, alongside strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.

You will be comfortable working with senior academic, clinical and external partners and will have experience developing strategic proposals, business cases and governance processes for large or complex projects. Strong analytical skills, sound judgement and the ability to translate evidence into clear recommendations will be important, as will excellent communication skills and confidence facilitating discussions across diverse stakeholder groups.

You will bring a proactive and flexible approach, enjoy working collaboratively and be motivated by the opportunity to contribute to programmes that support innovation, healthcare education and research development. Relevant programme or project management experience and qualifications are expected, while knowledge of NHS workforce planning, commissioning or healthcare education would be an advantage.
