The Operations Administrator will work alongside colleagues to support the Department, including facilities monitoring, HR and EDI work and operational and events support. The Operations Administrator will provide administrative support to the Head of Department and Department Manager. This will include diary management, arranging meetings and minute taking, logistical support with events, dealing with correspondence, responsibility for filing and other administrative support.

The postholder will provide operational support to the LCN Facilities and Safety Manager. They will assist in monitoring space and desk usage in the department, setting up and liaising with visitors, and monitoring mandatory training requirements. This role is based on campus for four days a week, with one day available for remote working.

The post holder will act as a first point of contact for the Centre, monitoring and managing the queries, prioritising, responding to, signposting, or escalating queries as appropriate. You should have a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or above (including English Language and Mathematics) or equivalent experience, ideally gained within a Higher Education environment.

They will demonstrate strong commitment to customer service and the provision of an efficient, professional, and effective administrative function to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The post holder will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong numeracy skills, and the ability to present and interpret data clearly. You should be confident using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Email with a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.

You will be able to manage enquiries, draft correspondence, minutes, and summaries in a clear and logical format, and handle sensitive information with professionalism. You will also demonstrate strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise workload, and a consistent track record of meeting tight deadlines. A high level of written and spoken English is essential, along with a commitment to delivering high quality service.
