Student Opportunities and Partnerships Officer in London

UCL is at an interesting point in its history. We have expanded rapidly, and the new strategic planning process is focussed on building on achievements and opportunities from growth while also addressing some of the challenges. The UCL Strategic Plan outlines a vision for a ‘futures focussed’ UCL education that is ambitious and distinctive. It prompts us to view UCL education and student experience through the lens of current and future students to ensure we are able to meet their needs and expectations. It also recognises that ‘the future’ is not a given. Instead, different futures are there to be influenced and shaped by UCL students, staff and graduates through our teaching and research. One of the aims of the Strategic Plan is to bring together teaching, assessment and employability in order to support student futures and to that end, the new ‘UCL Higher Education Development & Support Institute’ (HEDS) has been established. HEDS brings together UCL Arena (UCL’s Centre for Research-based Education) and UCL Careers Service. HEDS sits within the Office of the Vice Provost (Education & Student Experience) (VPESE).

The role holder will work in the Student Partnerships Team, which sits within the Development & Planning team in the HEDS Institute. Things you'll be doing in this job include:

• Manage the operational delivery of UCL student partnership initiatives, ensuring the initiatives align to UCL’s education strategic priorities.
• Provide comprehensive programme management support for these activities, including financial management, robust data collection, evaluation and dissemination.
• Ensure a quality student experience across the team’s student partnership initiatives through the development of inclusive practices.
• Work with the Student Partnerships Team to maintain UCL’s position as a leader in sector for student partnerships.
• Support the Head of Student Partnerships in the design and roll out of further partnership initiatives.

To do this job you'll need to have:

• Experience of working successfully with students as partners.
• An ability to provide effective leadership and project guidance for student-staff partnership projects.
• Experience of project management and evaluation of projects.
• Experience of working with academic and professional services staff.
• Experience of developing and managing a variety of events (training, workshops, showcases, conferences).
• Experience of using a variety of IT systems (web content management system, Moodle, MS Teams).
