Lecturer (Teaching) in Construction Technologies and Methods

University College London (UCL) wishes to appoint a Lecturer (Teaching) in Construction Technologies and Methods. The post holder will be based at The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction at the Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment, a world-leading faculty ranked #1 in the world for Built Environment studies and #1 in the UK for its research environment. The post holder will carry out teaching, research, and programme administration within the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, in the field of Construction Management, consistent with the vision and mission of The School.

This is a full-time fixed-term position until 31st August 2029.

About you (key requirements)

The successful applicant will be expected to lead or co-lead modules primarily across Undergraduate programmes, but also Postgraduate Taught Programmes (PGT), delivering high-quality interdisciplinary education with flexibility across programmes as requested by the Director of School. They will contribute to programme and assessment development, provide personal tutoring and pastoral support, and undertake scholarship and professional development activities that support research-informed education.

The appointee must have a PhD or equivalent relevant to construction or a related discipline, together with broad and advanced knowledge of construction technologies and methods, including traditional and contemporary approaches. They will have an established track record of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, including module design and management, preparation of teaching materials, delivery of lectures and seminars, and assessment of student work. They will also have knowledge of relevant practice in the field through professional experience, academic research, publications or enterprise activities.

The successful candidate will have experience of supporting students, excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical ideas clearly, and experience or understanding of cross-disciplinary and non-classroom teaching approaches.
