The UCL School of Management is home to UCL’s business and management research and education programmes. The School has forged a reputation for world-leading research and teaching in the areas of innovation management, the creation and growth of technology-intensive organisations, business analytics, and entrepreneurship. About the role
The Global Engagement Administrator (GEA) provides administrative and operational support for the School's Global Engagement and International Programmes activities, contributing to the delivery of the School's Global Engagement Strategy. The role supports international partnerships, student mobility initiatives, and the coordination of international programmes, and includes overseas travel of up to eight weeks per year. Working closely with the Global Engagement and International Programmes teams, the post holder coordinates travel, meetings, and visits, while liaising with international partners and internal stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of global engagement activities. The role also supports the administration of inbound and outbound student mobility and international events. The role requires excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across a diverse international network and deliver a high standard of service in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in written and spoken Mandarin and a strong understanding of Asian business etiquette are essential to support the School's strategic engagement across East Asia, particularly China.
About you
- Extensive experience in higher education and international engagement, working closely with academic staff, students, overseas universities, and senior international stakeholders to support strategic partnerships and institutional relationships.
- Proven expertise in providing high-level administrative and operational support to senior colleagues, including coordinating international engagements, managing complex travel arrangements, accompanying overseas visits, and liaising with local representatives.
- Excellent written and spoken Mandarin, with outstanding oral and written communication skills and a strong understanding of Asian business culture and etiquette.
- Demonstrated success in delivering student-focused international initiatives while building and maintaining effective relationships with academic staff, students, and international partners through exceptional customer service.
- Highly organised with a proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work flexibly in a fast-paced international environment.
- Degree-educated (or equivalent experience) with a willingness to undertake frequent overseas travel, including additional hours and weekend working where required.
