The Cancer Institute includes the Cancer Research UK and UCL Cancer Trials Centre which is one of the largest cancer trials centres in the UK conducting multi‑centre national and international phase III trials, feasibility studies and early phase I and II studies.
About the role
We are seeking a Finance Administrator to provide proactive financial support within our dynamic team. You will manage non‑core accounts (discretionary, trading, consultancy), approve purchase orders, and ensure compliance with UCL financial regulations. This role involves working closely with academic and professional services staff, offering guidance on finance policies and producing clear income/expenditure summaries.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing financial transactions using UCL systems (MyFinance, Axiom)
- Raising and approving purchase orders and expense claims
- Preparing monthly financial summaries and supporting year‑end processes
- Providing excellent customer service to staff and stakeholders
This is a hybrid working position, with 2-3 days expected in the office per week.

About you
You will have strong IT and Excel skills, experience of finance administration, excellent communication abilities, and a clear commitment to providing high‑quality financial support. Knowledge of accounting principles and experience using an accounting system (e.g., Oracle) is essential.
