We are now seeking a Business Standards Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in strengthening governance, assurance and continuous improvement across our accommodation services.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive professional to help shape and maintain business standards across a large and complex accommodation portfolio.
Working closely with the Business Standards Manager, Accommodation Managers and operational teams, you will coordinate compliance activities, support audit programmes and contribute to the development of robust processes, policies and procedures. You will play a central role in monitoring business standards, maintaining compliance records, analysing performance data and supporting both internal and external assurance activities.
The role offers significant variety, combining operational compliance, governance, risk management, process improvement and stakeholder engagement. You will work across a broad network of colleagues, including Estates, Safety Services, Legal Services and central university teams, helping to ensure our services remain aligned with legislative requirements, sector standards and UCL policies.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys improving processes, identifying opportunities for greater consistency and supporting teams to embed best practice in their day-to-day operations.
Please note, this is a 9-month fixed-term contract/ secondment offered on an onsite basis full-time (5-days per week). This is an internal recruitment advert, available to eligible UCL workers only.
About you
You will bring experience from an operational, compliance, governance, audit, facilities management or business standards environment, along with a strong understanding of how effective processes and assurance frameworks support service excellence.
Highly organised and analytical, you will be confident managing multiple priorities, maintaining accurate records and interpreting data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement. You will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels and influence positive change across a diverse organisation.
You will be comfortable reviewing procedures, coordinating audits, monitoring compliance requirements and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Experience within property, estates, facilities management, accommodation or similarly regulated environments would be particularly valuable.
