About the role
The successful candidate will be able to provide customer focused service to all workshop users and will work as part of the wider technician team of B-made staff supporting day to day operations in the workshop. This role will primarily support the numerical manufacturing activities and equipment in the workshops at both 22 Gordon Street and Wicklow Street. The role is not limited to these technologies and will be expected to pick up new skills to support the specific equipment in B-made, so is a great opportunity for technicians looking to expand their skills and experience while sharing their experience and knowledge with workshop users.
This post will be split between B-made\’s 22 Gordon Street location in Bloomsbury and Wicklow Street workshop.

About you
The Technician will work both independently and in coordination with B-made managers and colleagues to support services provided in B-made. The post holder will be required to work in various capacities, ensuring essential services are supported so must be flexible and able to deliver a variety of duties such as:
- Providing technical advice and support to academics, scientists, students, researchers, and staff.
- Consistently maintaining equipment and good service delivery.
- Being helpful in positive will discussing all aspects of the design and construction of projects with stakeholders, instructing them on good mechanical, safe practice and compliance to safety standards.
- Being a proactive member of the wider technician team of B-made staff to support day to day operations in the workshop.
- Equipment is maintained and users supported to avoid delays or interruptions to service.
- Flexibly work to support Numerical Manufacturing equipment and activities as required.
- Occasionally support the analogue workshop’s general wood and metal work activities.
- Responsibly supervise and train workshop users on proper equipment use and help workshop users resolve problems as they arise.
