The Cancer Research UK & UCL Cancer Trials Centre (CTC) is part of the Cancer Institute at University College London. The CTC is responsible for the development and conduct of clinical trials to evaluate new approaches to the treatment of cancer and is a UKCRC Registered Clinical Trials Unit. The CTC has a portfolio which includes multicentre phase III trials using survival, tumour response and quality of life as endpoints. The portfolio also encompasses phase I and II trials, some with biological endpoints, and there is an interest in screening studies within the organisation. CTC staff collaborate with clinicians and research staff in the UK and abroad. The CTC is based in central London, with excellent building facilities and transport links. We believe that the CTC offers a great working environment, in terms of both the people and the location. The CTC offers hybrid working for all staff (with a minimum of 60% FTE office attendance required), along with many other staff benefits. About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Administrator to support the work of the Departmental Administrator and Senior Finance Administrator. As part of the small and collaborative Professional Services team at the CTC, the postholder will be responsible for financial administration, events & teaching administration, and providing administrative and HR support for the CTC. This role requires the postholder to work both independently and in collaboration with colleagues within the CTC and externally, to ensure the CTC’s administrative and finance activities are effectively and efficiently supported. This is a full-time, open-ended post and is funded until end September 2028 in the first instance.

We will consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible and job share basis wherever possible (minimum 80% FTE) – please state your available FTE in your application. This role is eligible for hybrid working, with a minimum of 60-80% onsite attendance required. Higher office attendance may be required during probation.

The postholder will be well‑organised and proactive with strong administration skills and excellent attention to detail. Experience of clerical or administrative work, preferably within an academic environment is essential and experience of finance/grant administration would be an advantage.
