About us
Please note this is an internal only role. UCL is one of the world's leading universities, committed to delivering an outstanding student experience and fostering an inclusive, diverse, and supportive community. The UCL Accommodation team manages more than 8,000 bed spaces across 26 halls of residence, working with both UCL-owned properties and trusted accommodation partners. We play a vital role in supporting students throughout their accommodation journey, from application and allocation through to arrival and ongoing support.
As part of our Accommodation Office team, you'll join a customer-focused service dedicated to helping students access safe, suitable accommodation while ensuring an exceptional experience at every stage.
About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Accommodation Advisor to join our Applications and Allocations team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a service that directly impacts the student experience at one of the world's leading universities. As the first point of contact for accommodation-related enquiries, you will provide professional advice and guidance to students, staff and external stakeholders on accommodation eligibility, applications, allocations, finance and associated policies. You will manage enquiries received by telephone, email and online systems, ensuring responses are accurate, timely and delivered with a high level of customer care.
Alongside handling enquiries, you will support the administration of accommodation applications and room allocations using UCL's accommodation management systems. You will play an important role in maintaining accurate records, processing requests and helping to ensure that accommodation services operate efficiently throughout the academic cycle. The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to service improvements, student-facing communications and key university events, including Open Days and arrival periods. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining office-based working in Bloomsbury with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week.
About you
You will be an organised and proactive individual with experience in a customer service or administrative environment. You will have excellent communication skills and enjoy working with a diverse range of people, providing support in a professional, empathetic and solutions-focused manner. You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a busy environment and have strong attention to detail when handling data and administrative processes. You will be confident using a range of IT systems and able to learn new technologies quickly. Experience within higher education, student accommodation, housing or a reservations-based environment would be advantageous, as would familiarity with accommodation management systems such as StarRez. Above all, you will share our commitment to delivering an outstanding customer experience and supporting students throughout their accommodation journey.
If you are looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to the student experience while developing your career within a world-leading institution, we would love to hear from you.
