UCL Accommodation is part of UCL Estates and provides accommodation to more than 6,500 students across over 26 halls throughout London. As part of one of the world’s leading universities, we are committed to creating welcoming, inclusive and supportive communities where students feel at home. Our ambition is to deliver an exceptional student experience by providing high-quality accommodation services, maintaining affordability and creating environments where students can thrive academically and personally.

Working within a fast‑paced and dynamic setting, our teams play an important role in supporting students throughout every stage of their accommodation journey while upholding the values of collaboration, inclusivity, excellence and service.

The Accommodation Advisor plays a key role in delivering an excellent experience for students living within UCL residences. This position combines front‑of‑house responsibilities with operational and administrative support across accommodation sites. You will provide a welcoming and professional service to students, visitors and contractors, manage enquiries and support residents with day‑to‑day accommodation matters. You will also assist with accommodation administration, including resident records, payments, room moves, arrivals and departures, while ensuring properties are maintained to the required standards. The role requires close collaboration with colleagues across the accommodation team and involvement in initiatives that enhance student wellbeing, engagement and overall satisfaction. This is a varied and rewarding role suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy environment and is committed to delivering excellent customer service.

You are a customer‑focused and organised individual who enjoys working with people and creating positive experiences. You have experience in a customer‑facing environment and are confident communicating with a wide range of people while handling enquiries and resolving issues professionally and sensitively. You are able to manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You bring a positive attitude, adaptability and a collaborative approach to your work, with a genuine commitment to supporting students and delivering high standards of service. Experience within accommodation, hospitality, retail or student services would be beneficial, together with administrative experience and confidence using Microsoft Office systems. Most importantly, you will share our commitment to providing an outstanding student experience and contributing positively to our community.

As well as the exciting opportunities this role presents, we also offer some great benefits:

  • 41 Days holiday (27 days annual leave, 8 bank holidays and 6 closure days)
  • Additional 5 days’ annual leave purchase scheme
  • Defined benefit career average revalued earnings pension scheme (CARE)
  • Cycle to work scheme and season ticket loan
  • Relocation scheme for certain posts
  • On-site gym
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption pay
  • Employee assistance programme: Staff Support Service

As London’s Global University, we know diversity fosters creativity and innovation, and we want our community to represent the diversity of the world’s talent. We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where we all belong. We therefore particularly encourage applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in UCL’s workforce. These include people from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds; disabled people; LGBTQI+ people; and for our Grade 9 and 10 roles, women.
