Job Description

As a Wok Chef at Din Tai Fung UK, you will play a crucial role in supporting our back kitchen team and ensuring smooth service. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare, cook, and serve high-quality wok dishes, noodle dishes, and appetisers
  • Operate your chef station with precision and attention to detail
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, stock rotation, and kitchen cleanliness
  • Train and support junior kitchen team members
  • Work collaboratively with a team of passionate chefs during busy services
  • Ensure consistency, portion control, and fast service in a high-volume kitchen

Who You Are

We are looking for a Wok Chef who is enthusiastic, hardworking, and thrives in a dynamic and busy environment. Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a Chef de Partie, Wok Chef, Noodle Chef, or Commis Chef role—however, we are happy to train enthusiastic individuals willing to learn!
  • Worked in an Asian kitchen, Taiwanese restaurant, Chinese restaurant, or other pan-Asian cuisine
  • Understand traditional Chinese cooking techniques (wok hei, noodle pulling, etc.)
  • Have strong knife skills, excellent prep technique, and kitchen discipline
  • Are motivated, reliable, and looking for a long-term chef career with us
  • Flexible availability to work full time, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with shifts that may run as late as 10:30 PM
