£30,000 - £40,000 FTE Westerham, Kent | Permanent Part-Time ideally 3 days a week

About Us

We are a busy and growing firm of accountants based in Westerham, Kent. We are looking to add an experienced and capable individual to our team to support our clients across a broad range of compliance and reporting work. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper or a part-qualified accountant.

The Role

Accounts Preparation
  • Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Reconciling bank accounts, control accounts and ledgers
  • Working with cloud-based software including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and Dext
VAT & Making Tax Digital (MTD)
  • Preparing and submitting client VAT returns across a range of VAT schemes
  • Supporting clients with MTD for VAT and MTD for Income Tax (MTD for ITSA) obligations
  • Maintaining accurate digital records in line with HMRC requirements
Tax Returns
  • Preparing self-assessment income tax returns for individuals, sole traders and partnerships
  • Calculating tax liabilities and advising clients on payment deadlines
  • Assisting with HMRC correspondence and routine enquiries

About You

Essential:
  • Solid accounts experience
  • Experience preparing VAT returns and working with MTD-compliant software
  • Proficiency with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Dext, or similar
  • Familiarity with self-assessment tax returns and basic tax compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client deadlines
Desirable (not essential):
  • Part-qualified (AAT, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in an accountancy practice
