This role is for systems engineers who want to work where design, build, integration and flight all happen side by side. You’ll join a growing UAV manufacturer developing complex uncrewed aircraft platforms in a highly dynamic, fast-evolving sector. Unlike traditional OEM environments, this is a place where systems engineers stay close to the hardware and close to the outcome. Your focus will sit firmly on the right-hand side of the V: integration, testing, trials and subsystem development. The work is practical, collaborative and fast-paced, with frequent iteration and real-world feedback.
What makes this role different:
- End-to-end product visibility — design → build → fly
- Real integration and test ownership
- Fast iteration, rapid prototyping, minimal bureaucracy
- Exposure across multiple subsystems and platforms
- A growing business where systems engineers influence outcomes
Experience that fits well:
- Systems engineering experience focused on test & integration
- Electrical and/or mechanical systems background
- Comfort working hands-on with hardware
- Previous design experience welcome (but not essential)
- Ability to operate in a fast-changing environment
This role does not focus on requirements writing; it’s about making systems work (or breaking them!), proving them, and improving them.
Location & security:
- Salisbury area
- Hybrid working (typically 3 days onsite, flexible)
- UK Security Clearance required or eligibility to obtain
Package:
- Salary up to £60,000
- Bonus up to 15%
- Pension matched up to 6%
- Private medical & dental
- Flexible working hours
- Half-day Fridays
If you want to work at the forefront of UAV development, with real system ownership and visibility from concept to flight, this is a systems engineering role worth exploring.
