We are seeking a proactive and commercially astute Project Sales Manager to lead key client accounts and manage relationships with main contractors across multiple projects. Working closely with our design and estimating teams, the successful candidate will oversee the full sales and pre-construction process from tendering and specification through to seamless handover to the project management team. The role requires a strong commercial mindset, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to deliver client expectations and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and convert sales opportunities from main contractors, ensuring a proactive approach to identifying opportunities in new sectors.
  • Meet new business acquisition targets in the main contractor sector as agreed with your line manager.
  • Manage the Department for Education project pipeline by attending contractor engagement meetings.
  • Prepare and present compelling sales proposals and solutions for both new and existing clients.
  • Maximise profit on each deal while remaining within Company pricing and commercial frameworks.
  • Follow the Company’s commercial framework and ensure all costings are accurate and approved.
  • Ensure that cost sheets and clear ordering instructions are provided in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with internal teams and ensure detailed handovers are completed for the Projects Team.
  • Attend client handovers and oversee completion, including client staff training when required.
  • Work with Project Managers to manage the commercial aspects of live projects, including variations and final accounts.
  • Provide accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts including gross profit projections.
  • Manage the invoicing forecast by collaborating with the Projects Team to project monthly revenue figures.
  • Provide detailed feedback and analysis on lost projects to improve bidding strategy and win rates.
  • Support and collaborate with the Sales Team to secure new opportunities and maintain strong contractor relationships.
  • Actively contribute to the growth and development of the business in your region.
  • Be a reliable and supportive team player, assisting colleagues when required.

Experience Required:

  • Proven track record in project sales within the commercial catering, kitchen equipment, for construction-related sectors.
  • Experience managing relationships with main contractors and subcontractors.
  • Strong understanding of construction project workflows and tendering processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, layouts, and M&E specifications.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and budgeting skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational abilities.
