This role is about creating the next one. We're supporting a pioneering company developing some of the most advanced UAV platforms operating anywhere in the world today.

As part of a growing Concept Development team, you'll take ownership of battery systems from initial requirements through to flight-ready hardware. Unlike many organisations where battery engineers sit in a narrow specialist function, here you'll work closely with propulsion, avionics, mechanical and flight test teams, seeing your designs progress rapidly from concept to airborne reality.

What you'll be doing:

  • Designing and integrating advanced battery pack solutions from concept through to production
  • Developing battery architectures using pouch cell technologies
  • Creating and executing test and validation programmes
  • Building and evaluating prototype battery systems
  • Working on thermal management, packaging and high-voltage integration challenges
  • Collaborating closely with suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Supporting the development of next-generation energy solutions for autonomous aircraft

We're interested in engineers who bring:

  • Strong battery pack design and cell integration experience
  • Hands-on experience with pouch cells
  • Knowledge of thermal management and battery safety principles
  • Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks
  • Understanding of high-voltage systems and battery manufacturing processes
