Role Summary
UK Connect seeks a HSEQ Manager with a strong track record in leading Health, Safety, Environment and Quality functions through robust governance, compliance and continuous improvement across all operations. The role holder will manage and retain all relevant external certifications and accreditations required by the business.
The HSEQ Manager works collaboratively with all business areas on activities involving health, safety, environment and quality matters. They provide expert guidance, blended with practical solutions, to improve processes and create necessary documentation.

About You
As a proactive and resilient individual, you take ownership and demonstrate strong attention to detail. Confident at influencing across all levels, you balance a pragmatic, solution-focused approach with the ability to challenge where needed. You are calm under pressure and highly organised, managing competing priorities whilst maintaining high standards. You build trust through a collaborative and approachable style.
Key Responsibilities
- ISO & Accreditation Management: Own and manage all quality systems and certifications (including ISO 9001, SMAS and SafeContractor), ensuring ongoing compliance, audit readiness, effective stakeholder management and successful delivery of current and future accreditation requirements.
- Strategy & Governance: Develop and embed HSEQ strategy, policies and management systems aligned to ISO standards, ensuring quality, safety and environmental requirements are fully integrated into operational processes.
- Compliance & Assurance: Conduct audits, inspections and compliance reviews to ensure certification and legal adherence. Monitor regulatory change and provide both expert and practical support to Field Services on health & safety, risk management and customer requirements.
- Risk Management: Lead risk assessments, hazard identification and implementation of effective controls across all business activities.
- Incident & Non-Conformance Management: Oversee incident reporting, investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring quality non-conformances are effectively managed and corrective actions are implemented and closed out in a timely manner.
- Training & Competence: Develop and deliver HSEQ and quality training, ensuring strong understanding, adoption and consistent application of certification and accreditation requirements across the business.
- Performance Monitoring & Improvements: Track and report HSEQ performance metrics, using insights to enhance the ISO 9001 QMS, reduce risk and strengthen a proactive safety and quality culture.
