As BIM Manager within the newly established Asset Information Management (AIM) team, you will play a key role in developing and assuring the "golden thread" of asset information across one of the UK's largest property portfolios. Reporting to the Asset Information Management (AIM) G7, you will lead BIM strategy, information assurance, and digital asset management, ensuring structured project information is transformed into high-quality operational asset data that supports informed decision-making across the estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage BIM strategy and compliance in line with BS EN ISO 19650, the UK BIM Framework, and digital transformation objectives.
  • Develop and maintain Asset Information Requirements (AIR), Exchange Information Requirements (EIR), and digital handover standards.
  • Oversee BIM assurance activities, including audits, model reviews, quality checks, and validation of project information.
  • Support the integration of BIM with CAFM/IWMS platforms and wider asset management systems.
  • Ensure structured asset information supports maintenance, lifecycle management, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
  • Promote effective use and governance of the Common Data Environment (CDE) across projects and operational teams.
  • Lead and mentor BIM professionals, supporting capability development and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, supply chain partners, and other Government Departments to promote BIM adoption.
  • Monitor performance using KPIs and drive innovation, including supporting the development of digital twin capabilities.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience developing and implementing BIM strategies aligned with BS EN ISO 19650 and the UK BIM Framework.
  • Experience developing and managing Asset Information Requirements (AIR), Exchange Information Requirements (EIR), and digital handover documentation.
  • Extensive experience undertaking BIM assurance, model reviews, audits, and quality management.
  • Advanced proficiency using Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
  • Experience producing and validating IFC and COBie data outputs for asset management.
  • Experience integrating BIM with CAFM/IWMS platforms to support facilities and lifecycle asset management.
  • Strong organisational and project delivery skills with experience managing multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Microsoft Project, SharePoint Lists, Planner, and Power BI.
  • Experience managing and supporting Common Data Environments (CDEs).
  • Demonstrable leadership experience managing or mentoring BIM professionals.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and training delivery skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within asset management or facilities management environments.
  • Experience developing digital workflows and process improvements.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Viewpoint, Asite, Bentley ProjectWise, or similar CDE platforms.
  • Experience coordinating third-party BIM consultants and supply chain partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining compliance and quality.
  • Understanding of Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations and the use of BIM to support health and safety.
  • Knowledge of Solibri, AutoCAD, BIM 360, and Dynamo for Revit.
  • Experience supporting digital twin development and innovation initiatives.
