Over the past decade, UK Biobank has grown from a small organisation of around 30 people into a global research resource with over 300 colleagues supporting world-leading health research. As we continue to evolve, strong systems and reliable data are essential to ensuring the organisation runs efficiently and continues to deliver impact at scale. We are now looking for a Finance Systems Analyst to join our Finance team. This role will play a key part in managing and improving our financial systems, supporting data analysis, and helping deliver the implementation of a new finance platform across the organisation.
Reporting to the Finance Transformation Lead, you will help manage and optimise UK Biobank's finance systems while supporting the implementation of a new cloud-based finance platform. You will work across finance and wider business teams to ensure systems are configured effectively, data is accurate and reliable, and reporting provides the insights needed for informed decision-making. This role offers the opportunity to play a central part in a major system transformation, including migrating data from legacy platforms to helping design and build reporting tools that improve financial visibility across the organisation.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the end-to-end implementation of a new finance system.
- Leading data migration activities, including mapping, cleansing, validating, and reconciling data from legacy systems.
- Administering user access, permissions, and role security across finance systems.
- Designing and developing automated financial reports and dashboards to support business decision-making.
- Creating standard and ad hoc reports using tools such as Power BI and Excel.
- Supporting finance and non-finance colleagues through system training and guidance during implementation and beyond.
To be successful, you will have:
- Experience working with mid-market ERP finance systems (for example, Unit4, Sage Intacct, Dynamics 365 or Workday).
- Experience administering finance systems and working with reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of core finance processes, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budgeting.
- Proficiency with reporting tools such as Power BI, Excel, or ERP-native reporting tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to support and guide a wide range of system users across the organisation.
Working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday with some flexibility, 2/3 days onsite with hybrid working available. Located in Greater Manchester (initially based in Stockport with a move to Manchester Science Park in mid- to late 2026).
Our passion for diversity and equality means creating a work environment for all employees that is welcoming, respectful, engaging, and enriched with opportunities for personal and professional development.
