Based in the Legal & Compliance department, the role focuses on coordinating with external advisors on legal, regulatory compliance, and related matters for UK bank operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance on routine legal and compliance matters to the business.
- Draft, review, and update compliance policies, procedures, and controls, addressing related inquiries.
- Maintain the Regulatory Correspondence Register and supporting documentation.
- Respond accurately and promptly to courts, police, DWP, liquidators, HMRC, regulators, and other enforcement agencies.
- Conduct horizon scanning and map regulations across bank functions.
- Review legal court orders and information requests monthly for the Legal & Compliance Committee.
- Deliver regulatory updates to Compliance, Business, and Operations teams.
- Advise on legal issues stemming from UK operations.
- Annually review the Legal and Conveyancing Panel, maintaining regular communication for external legal services, opinions, and litigation.
- Handle ad hoc legal matters as needed.
- Approve financial promotions.
- Oversee and monitor legal and compliance activities.
- Compile reports for senior management.
- Review outputs from third-party vendor systems.
- Undertake ad hoc Legal & Compliance projects as assigned by the Head of Legal & Compliance.
