Responsibilities

  • Oversee operation and maintenance of hot cells ensuring compliance and timely execution
  • Act as stakeholder for all hot‑cell related projects
  • Lead technical resolution of complex requirements and mitigate risks
  • Write, review, and manage key technical documentation: safety, process, technical specifications, procurement procedures
  • Ensure operations team is trained, competent, and appropriately delegated

Qualifications

  • Engineering‑related degree or equivalent experience within a high‑hazard industry
  • Experience handling radioactive materials, remote operations/manipulators in hot cells, and waste processing
  • Awareness of, and experience working within, a Technical Management System
  • Ability to work effectively with customers, scientists, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Proven ability to manage and direct third‑party maintenance activities

Additional Information

  • £56,596 (inclusive of Specialist Allowance)
  • Final salary defined benefit scheme with equivalent of 21.5% employer pension contribution
  • 25 days annual leave, plus 3 days Christmas closure, 2.5 privilege day, and 8 Bank holidays
  • Flexible and hybrid working options
