The salary for this role is £37,509. Onsite working is expected for 3 days a week, however, we actively support requests for flexible working. This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.

The Role: Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy. As Finance Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of business objectives, providing planning & analysis, accounting, reporting and costing support to inform decision making and drive financial performance.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Review and analyse performance, producing reports and commentary for individual project managers and business unit management.
  • Provide costing information into project managers and finance review of proposals.
  • Prepare and analyse month end accounts, ensuring accurate recognition of expenditure & revenue.
  • Support the business budgeting and forecast processes.
  • Produce formal financial customer reports and liaise with auditors.
  • Support the maintenance of a robust control environment.
  • Liaise with the Capital Project Accountant over the reporting of capital expenditure.
  • Support finance wider initiatives, such as testing of new reports & upgrades.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • AAT Qualified/in final stages (qualified within next 6-months).
  • Part-Qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA), or qualified by experience.
  • Experience with project costing and forecasting.
  • Experience working closely with business teams in a business partnering environment.
  • Understand the principles of revenue recognition.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail able to work on occasion to challenging timescales while still ensuring accuracy.
  • Ability to work as a team player & under own initiative.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and have experience of an ERP accounting system.
