Job Description
As part of a major programme, our Finance professionals play a vital role in supporting the achievement of key business objectives. This position is ideal for individuals studying towards or qualified at AAT level who are looking to develop their skills in a dynamic environment.
You will contribute to financial planning and analysis, accounting, reporting, and costing activities, helping to provide clear and accurate financial insight that supports informed decision-making. From assisting with business cases to supporting monthly financial reporting, you will ensure data is accurate, timely, and meaningful.
Strong attention to detail, a collaborative approach, and a genuine interest in understanding financial performance are essential to succeed in this role.
What You'll Be Doing
- Monitor and analyse financial performance, providing clear reporting and commentary with recommendations for improvement
- Support project costing and contribute to bids and contract pricing
- Prepare and review month-end accounts, ensuring accurate revenue and cost recognition
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with project and senior managers
- Produce customer financial reports and support audit processes to enable timely payments
- Maintain strong financial controls, including balance sheet reconciliations and audit-ready documentation
- Support capital expenditure reporting and variance analysis in collaboration with relevant teams
- Contribute to wider finance initiatives, including system and reporting improvements
Qualifications
- AAT qualified and/or working towards a qualification in a relevant professional accounting body.
- Experience working closely with business teams in a "business partner" capacity
- Understanding of revenue recognition principles and multi-funding control requirements
- Highly proficient in Excel and have experience of an ERP accounting system (Unit 4 / Agressow would be an advantage)
- Able to work to challenging timescales while maintaining a high level of accuracy
