Job Purpose
Our multi-faceted communications require the coordination, generation and supply of multiple content pieces to reach multiple audiences across multiple channels. This role requires content planning and delivery across the multiple channels of the business. This crucial role requires oversight as well as implementation/content development. The multiple touchpoints of the business: from marketing channels such as website, and social media, as well as blogs, infographics, landing pages, outbound and inbound content, whitepapers, customer voice case studies, storyboards for video, PR and editorial submissions etc will need to be part of your annual plan. The role requires ability to support multiple stakeholders: internal and external, as well as meeting the short and long terms deadlines for outputs. Working across the marcomms teams to support customer marketing, performance marketing, demand generation and internal communications, this role is crucial in ensuring consistency, optimal output, clarity of message and customer understanding. The overall goal to ensure clear communication to all our stakeholders is an immediate necessity. You will need to ensure our brand book includes current brand voice guidance, ensuring agreed messages, agreed terminology, agreed keywords (in line with the digital strategy) and the overall brand voice guidance is maintained and updated. Your attention to detail will contribute to enhancing our brand presence, engaging our audience and driving business growth. This is a hybrid role which can be based at any of our hubs: Newport (Midlands), Oxford, York, Edinburgh.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the brand’s content output across all channels, including ensuring consistency with up-to-date brand voice, ensuring keywords and terminology agreed.
- Review all current and future public-facing materials for compliance and develop a short-term improvement plan to build in keywords, ensure consistency and clarity of messaging and audience understanding.
- Support the development of annual content plans, incorporating all outbound, owned platforms, earned (customer voice) and channel campaign plans are taken into account and deadlines agreed.
- Support content creation process from ideation to publication.
- Support the delivery of Internal Communication activity.
- Ensuring content creation for different platforms and distribution across multiple platforms and channels.
- Identifying trends, content gaps and target audience preferences.
- Developing metrics of content performance by working collaboratively with colleagues to interpret data and analytics, report, and make recommendations.
- Guiding the content production for SEO and GEO optimisation, video editing and graphic design to make it user and search-engine friendly.
- Staying updated with the industry trends and algorithm changes affecting content and marketing directly or indirectly.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing or a related field.
- Ability to write and communicate via several channels and in person clearly in English at a professional level.
- Extensive experience with content creation, strategy building and content marketing.
- Experience working with content management systems (CMS).
- Working knowledge of search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimisation (SEO) and generative engine optimisation (GEO).
- Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent grammar.
- Excellent planning and management skills to oversee multiple content campaigns.
- Deadline management.
- This is an iterative role – constantly evolving and improving while working across and supporting a dynamic team.
