Overview
The UK–Africa Women in Food & Agribusiness Investment Summit is a high-level platform bringing together women entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, corporates, and development partners from the UK and Africa to drive trade, investment, and innovation in the agrifood sector. The Summit focuses on unlocking opportunities for women-led agribusinesses by connecting them to markets, finance, knowledge, and strategic partnerships. It creates space for dialogue, deal-making, and collaboration across the agrifood and investment ecosystem. Through keynote sessions, panel discussions, pitch opportunities, and networking, the Summit supports women to scale their businesses, attract investment, and increase their participation in regional and international trade. At its core, the Summit exists to strengthen women’s economic empowerment by positioning women as leaders in food systems, agribusiness, and sustainable development across the UK and Africa.
Role Description
Volunteers will support the planning and delivery of the UK–Africa Women in Food & Agribusiness Investment Summit 2026, gaining hands-on experience in an international event focused on trade, investment, and women’s economic empowerment. Support areas include Fundraising, Digital Marketing & Communications, Tech & Data, and Media & Partnerships. The role requires a few hours per week and teamwork within a remote team. Volunteers outside the UK will work fully remotely. Volunteers in the UK may support remotely and in person, especially during the Summit in London.
Qualifications
- Strong organisational and planning skills to support event coordination and program execution.
- Effective communication, writing, and social media management skills to promote community engagement.
- Have an interest in food, agribusiness, trade, investment or women’s economic empowerment.
- Have skills or experience in Fundraising, Marketing & Communications, Tech & Data, or Media & Partnerships.
- Are reliable and able to commit a few hours per week.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Have good communication and organisational skills.
- Are willing to learn and contribute positively.
Location: Volunteers outside the UK will work remotely. Volunteers in the UK may support remotely and in person.
