Main duties of the Waking Night Support Worker:

  • Perform duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards, and legal requirements.
  • Oversee and conduct intake, assessment, and discharge procedures.
  • Assist with risk management planning and reviews.
  • Ensure clients observe programme rules; support investigations and actions for breaches, including substance testing.
  • Provide advice, information, and support, including referrals to aftercare services for maintaining abstinence.
  • Maintain accurate client records and provide statistics for management and evaluation.
  • Assist in transferring individuals between agencies and services.
  • Support medication prompting, conduct audits, and maintain records.
  • Help clients develop recovery plans addressing their needs.
  • Support external appointments and facilitate access to transport.
  • Assist with practical aspects of daily living, such as life skills, benefits, and housing.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Organisational and time management skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to undertake lone working safely.
  • Effective negotiation and influence skills.
  • Ability to develop and review risk management plans.
  • Empathy and a non-judgemental attitude with a calm, caring approach.
  • Capacity to handle intensive, pressurised situations.
