Main duties of the Senior Support Worker:
- Arrange the rota to ensure staff coverage and task scheduling.
- Provide line management, guidance, and supervision to team members.
- Support recruitment, training, and induction to maintain high standards.
- Assist with medical audits, ensuring compliance and accurate records.
- Perform duties per company policies, QA strategy, CQC standards, and legal obligations.
- Oversee intake, assessment, and discharge processes.
- Support risk management planning, liaising with external parties as needed.
- Ensure client adherence to program rules and manage breaches, including substance testing.
- Offer advice and aftercare referrals for clients to support an abstinent lifestyle.
- Maintain accurate client records and provide data for evaluations.
- Facilitate client transfers between services.
- Assist with medication management, audits, and record-keeping.
- Develop achievable recovery plans with clients.
- Support residents with appointments and transport needs.
- Safeguard clients according to policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience required:
- NVQ Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent. (desirable)
- NVQ Level 4 or 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care (desirable)
- Relevant certification in Substance Misuse or Addiction (desirable)
- 2 year’s experience within a Support Worker role.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or senior support role within a care or rehabilitation setting.
- Experience in managing and supervising a team, providing guidance and support.
- Familiarity with CQC standards and compliance.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and care planning.
- Good verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
- Competent within the demands of the role in Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Ability to develop and review risk management plans.
The Recruitment Process:
- You will have an initial phone conversation with the talent acquisition specialist which will be an informal chat and opportunity to ask questions about the position.
- If you are successful in your initial phone conversation, you will be required to undertake an interview on-site or via video conference. (please note that if you have a video interview, you will be required to visit the centre at a later date for a tour)
