Waking Night Support Worker (Recovery) at Banbury Lodge – Oxfordshire (OX16)

£12.60 per hour | 43.75 hours per week

Rolling 2-week rota

Shifts: 19:30 – 08:00

Main Responsibilities of the Waking Night Support Worker:

  • Providing overnight care and welfare checks in line with individual care and risk management plans.
  • Encouraging appropriate night-time routines and managing client behaviour in line with policy.
  • Preparing rooms, documentation, and client packs for admissions and ensuring discharge paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Supporting safe medication management, including handovers, counts, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Maintaining clear, accurate records and completing handovers for the day team.
  • Ensuring communal and client areas are clean, safe, and ready for the following day.
  • Carrying out security and health & safety checks, escalating concerns where required.
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues and working collaboratively to support continuity of care.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently overnight and as part of a wider team.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar).
  • Excellent listening skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Confidence working safely and effectively on your own.
  • Strong boundary-setting and negotiation skills.
  • Experience creating and reviewing risk management plans.
  • A calm, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach.
  • Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong customer-focused mindset.
